A week’s gone by since the last pictures went up, I think, but not much has happened. Apart from an evening up at morfar’s on Tuesday, we’ve just been using Trine’s vacation time to get things done in our personal lives. Today Trine’s at another bachelorette party (Ditte’s) for the late morning and early afternoon, then we’re going to Kirsten & Frederik’s wedding this evening. (And Molli will be spending the evening with mormor.)
At some point tomorrow we’ll be heading up to morfar’s house where we’ll be staying for the week, partly to get out of town and relax a little more than seems possible in Frederiksberg, partly to stay away from our building while they sandblast the exterior walls of the courtyard. (Ever try to put a baby down while they’re sandblasting its room?)
The long and actually uncomfortable heat wave has finally taken a break: we got some cooling cloud cover yesterday, and today there are even more clouds and a nice stiff breeze. Please note I am not complaining about the heatwave. I am not complaining about there having been constant temps of 25-30 for the past month. If it starts snowing tomorrow and snows through next June, this has already had the best summer weather I’ve experienced here. Even better than 2003, which everyone assured me was as good as it go. (Although most of the good weather that summer was in July and August.)
It’s been very nice being able to throw Molli in a diaper and a onesie as her wardrobe for the day, but the heat’s interrupted her sleeping patterns. Given the choice between a good hot summer or a well-rested, regular-sleeping Molli, I’ll take the latter every time.
Her other upper front tooth appears to be growing in, but it seems to be doing so without breaking the skin. And just as I wrote the last line, she walked all the way across the living room to me… easily 15-20 steps. She walks more and more each day, sturdier and sturdier.
She laughs hysterically if I cross my eyes and make a Jerry Lewisish “Waah!” sound. That’s a brand new discovery. She also laughs if I hit myself over the head with a plastic bottle and go “waah!” I think she’s beginning to get me.
So… the first picture is from morfar’s yard Tuesday night, when it was still sizzling.
Here’s a shot of them together.
Here’s a shot of Molli in a very good mood and looking very much her crazy self—hair all askew, gap-tooth smile, eyes shining.
And here’s a bath shot from last night or the night before.
I’ll be able to access the net and email and everything this week, but probably won’t be uploading any photos. So the next post will probably be at least a week from now—sorry!
That is one happy baby you’ve got! What a terrific, light up your life smile she has!
Enjoy your vacation and let Molli loose in the back yard – she’ll have a blast in the grass! She sure is a water baby – I’d love to take her swimming. Maybe next year.
love and xxxx
Molli sure looks happy when wet. The plan to go to morfar’s sounds like a good one especially in light of the sandblasting. Good to let Molli romp on the grass, etc. Wish I could be there for a visit as well.
