Molli is six months old today, which is astonishing.
It’s also astonishing that Trine’s going to head into work in about five minutes, and I’m going to be Mr. Mom for the next eight or nine hours. Astonishing and a little intimidating… but I better get used to it. This is probably how it’s going to go until April.
She spent her first night in the new crib last night and we’re hoping her wakefulness was just the result of a little adjustment. She’s got miles of headroom, now, and plenty of room to wave her arms around, so hopefully she was only fussy all night because she was acclimatizing herself to all that. (I was going to italicize “hopefully,” but italics aren’t enough to convey our feelings.)
Anyway, there’s obviously not much time, so here are just a few pics from the last few days to fill your Molli quota:
First, Molli as my special guest on an edition of the Greg Nagan Show broadcast on New Year’s Eve. (A Skype call to farmor and farfar, actually.)
Here’s a closeup that explains some of Molli’s communication problems.
Here’s Molli in her New Year’s Eve party hat. She was the life of the party and wouldn’t fall asleep until about 11:30, but she wasn’t being very cranky about it.
Lastly, the only shot from the last ten days, I think, in which the whole family is present. Not a good photograph, but it’s all we’ve got. I think it’s from right before she finally went to bed on New Year’s Eve. (That’s also about the latest I was allowed to hold her that night.)
Trine’s practically out the door, so that’ll be it for now.
Half a year! Hard to believe.
Molli’s microphone technique does leave a little to be desired but she does communicate very well for her age. Hope Mr Mom survives the ordeal, and more importantly Molli does as well.
