Shades, Castle, Clip

I’m so tired, but I’m determined to keep up with the Molliblog and the backlog of pictures is annoying me. Plus, I cannot sleep until I know you all have seen Molli Malou’s new haircut.

First, flashback to nice weather: Molli Malou actually wore the hat and shades she got as a Christmas gift from the Lees and didn’t try to take them off. She loved herself in them. See:

Unfortunately she likes to play with glasses as well as wear them, so a day or two later she wrenched the shades apart while cruising in her pram. Oh well.

Sunday we made a quick jaunt up to Helsingoer to do some research for my book. We hadn’t driven a substantial trip with Molli Malou (awake) in a long time, so by the time we finished the 45-minute trip she was ready to rumble. We set her down on the ground and she took off like a wind-up toy.

We offered the stroller. Yes, she was interested. But no, not the way we thought.

Yes, that’s Kronborg in the distance in both of the above photos, by the way. Here it is a little closer up.

Due to the nature of my research, I walked all the way around the outermost works of the castle, even meandering along the rocky beach for a hundred yards or so. Trine strolled with Molli between the inner and outer walls. There were a lot of people fishing on the beach. I was surprised how unintimidating the castle looked from the waterline.

Once we did a full circumference of the castle (I have dozens of pictures, but they’re more for my purposes than any kind of vicarious tourism) we made sure to put the focus back where it belonged: Molli Malou visiting Hamlet’s castle.

We finally made it all the way into the courtyard. Think of the history, the legend, the cultural enormity of everything represented here.

But what does Molli Malou find the most enthralling sight of the entire visit?

What’s she running after?

What’s got her giggling in anticipation as she gallops across the stones?

Yeah. The water fountain.

She shared her excitement with Mor.

She shared her excitement with Daddy.

Then we actually stopped at a McDonald’s Drive-Thru (first time since I’ve lived here!), and she fell asleep as soon as we hit the highway.

Today Molli Malou got her haircut. I submit the following without comment, and wish you all a goodnight.

  1. Loved the pictures and the dialog. But I need to see more of the haircut before commenting. These blogs are apreciated.
