Just wanted to get things a little caught up. Obviously I’ve been talking a lot about Molli on the Almanac, but I haven’t been including personal stuff or pictures.
John and I ended our first beer stroll of March at his place instead of a cafe, where we set Molli and Liam down to see who’d kick whose ass. They weren’t very combative until John handed Liam’s favorite toy (his father’s press pass) to Molli. Molli loved it, and Liam was outraged. Here’s a shot of Molli grabbing the plastic card itself while Liam begins roping her in with the cord it’s attached to.
(Unfortunately there’s no footage of the magnificent scrum they got into moments after this picture was taken.)
This past Sunday we had coffee and cake with our old neighbors—Jørgen & Vibeke’s current neighbors—Peter and Pia, whose son August was born a month ago. It was strange to see Molli as a big girl, but that’s sure what she was next to August:
Geoff & Austin sent Molli a delayed Christmas present, and it’s one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen her in. Check her out:
Molli loves her Barney, as you can see in this photograph (he’s the purple thing on the left):
And here you can see her trying to crawl over to him:
Of course she didn’t make it, and to punish her failure I told her to drop and give me twenty!
I promised farfar this picture of Molli talking to him over Skype:
Then here’s a shot of Molli helping me celebrate my fortieth birthday…
The last shot is pretty silly, but it’s one I promised farmor and farfar.
She’s still not crawling forward, but I did watch her crawl about one-and-a-half feet backwards today. I don’t know if that’s progress or regression, but it’s something.
Trine’s birthday gift to me is a “mini-cruise” to Norway. We leave Sunday afternoon, our boat arrives in Oslo Monday morning, we leave Oslo Monday afternoon, and we’re back in Copenhagen Tuesday morning. Molli will of course be serving as our chaperone.
Forty. Damn.
I can only say 40 never looked so good. The pictures are fab and Molli will be going forward in no time – maybe in Norway! What a great birthday gift. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Oh – Molli looks great in earphones; they give her a very “pop” look!
I can only say that the conversation Molli and I had must remain confidential. She told me of her plans and I promised to help her with her escape.
