Molli Malou and I had a quick visit to Maddie (25MB) today. It was the first time we’d allowed Molli Malou near her sister in 2009. Molli Malou was very happy and we kept the visit short enough that she didn’t have time to get her nose out of joint. Maddie was a little bewildered by the sudden rush of activity, but took to it very well. The little trip I took with her up and down the hall was the first time I’d held her and walked anywhere with her without her being restrained by a cable or wire connection to anything. It was the first time I’d seen her out of a hospital room, actually, except for the time the paramedics moved her to Glostrup… the nurse had been walking Maddie like that when Trine arrived this morning, because the poor girl had been wailing for her mother, who’d arrived just a little late because Molli Malou and I (I’ll let you infer the division of labour in that partnership) had made fresh bagels. That was the first time Trine had seen Maddie outside of a hospital room, and she made sure she had a stroll of her own with her too.
It’s been a tough 24 hours, but since the end result is moot I don’t even want to get into it. And as you can see in that video, Maddie is just rolling along.
There are pictures from the visit, but I think the video is more fun. I’m going to hold back on pictures until we get those damn tubes and wires off Maddie and you can see how pretty she is under all that stuff!
