It’s all about Maddie’s first solid food, but there’s some catching up to take care of first.
Mormor was kind enough to start washing the windows along the side of our terrace one evening while she was visiting, but a couple of helpers jumped in right away.
(The planets are window stickers I bought at Staples like three years ago but hadn’t figured Molli Malou was yet ready for… but we had to stick something on those windows to discourage birds from literally killing themselves by flying into them. we’d been getting about one bird suicide every other month. Blech.)
The weather has been turning, obviously, so Mormor got a chance to hold Maddie outdoors.
I am so damn proud of our hedges.
But man, the clipped branches from the rest of the yard were piling up.
Trine’s original kitchen garden remains unfinished while we’ve been exhausting ourselves on the real kitchen garden, which is going to be out in the back yard.
Pfah, gardening. This is the Molli Malou and Maddie blog. First bath together!
One of the new pedagogs at børnehaven’s former job was… facepainter at Frederiksberg zoo.
You think those cheeks are red?
(It’s okay, her big sister looked a little cross-eyed at that age too.)
Here’s the little 100 sq. ft. (10 m2) garden we’ve been ripping apart to use as a kitchen garden. We just today finished clearing it, and the planting begins this week. The plan is strawberries, onions, carrots, garlic, and rhubarbs.
It’s late April in these pictures, as you can see by the date stamp. Today this same picture would be a riot of leaves and blossoms.
Maddie loves her carseat. Sometimes.
Molli Malou loves Maddie. Most of the time.
Mille was visiting and the girls were playing with the make-up kid off in the corner. We weren’t paying much attention, Trine and I. Then came the, “Hey, look at me!” moment.
It looks like some kind of cute clown motif from a distance, right? Zoom in:
The stuff was like half an inch thick all over her face. Her eyelashes stuck together. It was like Leona Helmsley and Tammy Faye Baker combined. And squared.
Times a million.
Gymnastics jamboree! Yay!
(Not many good pictures, alas. Some very cute video, but I need time to edit all those videos. I really do. We’re way backlogged.)
Hey Maddie Marie… we finally caught up to your solid food experiment!
Yes, she sensed the excitement. And here we go!
She’s eating solid food every day now. It seems to be helping her digestion as we hoped it would: she’s been crapping every day — twice on one day this week, which was the first time she had ever done that since leaving the hospital!
Tonight she even ate 200 mL of formula in one sitting, which is the most she’s ever taken.
She had her five-month birthday yesterday. Five months! And from today it’s just two months to Molli Malou’s five-year birthday.
Wow.
This really is nanabanana. I loved the blog – especially the bath photos – they are terrific.
Am impressed with the work youve done in your garden and hope you get lots of produce from your kitchen garden. Greg, you work on the hedges is outstanding.
Loved Molli Malou in her makeup and Maddie in her food. Thanks for a great blog
Mom
This is pop-pop. Great hedge clipping and a good looking garden. Now for the real compliments to Maddie and Molli Malou. They both look so happy and interested in the world. Nice makeup on Molli Malou she can give Sophie some lessons on face painting. AML Dad (pop-pop)
