Molli’s asleep, Trine’s working on her computer, and I’ve got just a little time left before I have to start getting ready to head out to the Super Bowl party at Uffe’s (local kickoff, 12:30 am), so I’m contradicting earlier assertions made on the telephone that I wouldn’t be updating the Molliblog until tomorrow.
But I’m going to attain whole new levels of pith. (Save your remarks…)
First, from Friday’s beer stroll, Molli at the tomb of Soren Kierkegaard. You may not have known that his last name is old Danish for churchyard… his tombstone is located in Assistens KirkegĂ„rd, which is the modern Danish word for churchyard, or cemetery.
After the cemetary stroll (other visited luminaries included H.C. Andersen, Niels Bohr, and Dan Turrell), we had the requisite beer-stroll beer:
Later that night I got this interesting picture of Molli in a reflective mood:
But you don’t care about any of that. You want to see Molli in her Fastelavn (Shrovetide) costume. So here you go:
The rear view is important because the tail is so adorable:
And the gloves just perfect the costume:
On Fastelavn, Danish children wake their parents (in costume) by lashing them with tree whips and demanding whatever they want for breakfast. Later they gather with other children around a barrel out of which they must “beat the cat.” Play proceeds pinata-style until some lucky munchkin “beats the cat out of the barrel” (knocks the barrel down and spills it open), and that player is then crowned “cat king.” Here’s one happy player from the barrel-beating in our courtyard this morning:
Molli was delighted:
Here’s a generic happy shot of Molli, home, warm, and back in her civvies:
And here’s an astonishing photograph that makes a powerful statement of just how busy we’ve been lately:
That’s right: that black thing at the bottom of the pile is our normal, adult-sized laundry hamper. Never again.
And now it’s time to get ready for some football…!
CUTE COSTUME..LOOKS HAPPY AND HEALTHY…PAM HAD SOME COSTUME…GREEN DRAGON OR SOMETHING…SHE,PAM,IS NOW RECOVERING FROM ANKLE SURGERY….SCREWS AND A PLATE TO HEAL THE BROKEN FIBIA,,RUGBY INJURY.I WAS FIVE FEET AWAY AND HEARD THE CRUNCHY SNAP..,,SHE IS A TOUGH PERSON…

Molli is the sweetest little lionness I’ve ever seen and what a smile that girl has! It’s enough to take your breath away.
Now about that pile of laundry. . . . .
Yeah Pats!
Fascinating about Shrovetide. Learn something new every day. Go Pats.
