It’s the last day of March. Molli’s made astonishing developmental strides this month. Here’s the first picture of Molli taken this month, along with the last (from yesterday).
The way things are going, she ought to be able to take her own pictures by the end of next month.
I don’t have many pictures of Easter because it was kind of a hectic day: when we called Vibeke to tell her we were going to be a little late on account of our having discovered a flat tire on our car, she informed us we were already late because we’d forgotten about the time change.
But I did get a picture of Molli with her great uncle Klaus:
Molli’s Easter outfit was a hand-me-down from her cousins, and I thought they might like to see how Molli looked in it. (It looks like our floor, but it’s actually Klaus’s.)
Klaus’s mother-in-law (Birgit’s mother), Ingeborg, also took a shine to Molli. And she spoke to me in the clearest, finest Danish I’ve heard from anyone but the queen.
But I was hungry and tired of always taking pictures, so I was derelict in my duty for the rest of the meal. I got the camera out for our walk through the woods that surround Klaus’s home, though.
And that’s that.
I should also mention that Molli’s taste in literature appears to be changing: lately she’s been going for the Oxford French-English dictionary and Partridge’s Dictionary of Slang. She’s also eating every 2-1/2 hours and sleeping much longer, and much deeper, at night. She’s going down by 7:30 and staying down until about seven in the morning.
And she’s actually beginning to develop a relationship with the cats. I mean, you can actually see that she recognizes them as independent entities. She still just grabs them and tries to pull their hair off—but she does the same thing with human beings. Clara still wants nothing to do with her, but Ollie is beginning to show some interest in her, and even purrs (the idiot) when she pulls his hair out. Trine thinks it’s because his hair is too long and he’s glad to be rid of it. I stand by the too-damn-stupid-to-know-better explanation.
She’ll be nine months old on Sunday. Nine months!
