I’m preparing some photos for a blog I may actually be able to post within the next few days, but I feel badly about being so far behind. The relative dearth of Maddieblogging compared to Molliblogging isn’t because Maddie is any less wonderful or exciting to us than her big sister was at the same point in time (as I beg both of them to understand in the future), but because of the relative lack of time we’re experiencing now compared to at the time of Molli Malou’s first few months.
But for the sake of posterity, let’s get a few facts down here for the permanent record!
Maddie was first released to our custody from Glostrup the afternoon of Friday, January 30.
She was given a clean bill of health and approved for staying with us at a hospital visit on Monday, February 2.
On Friday, February 6, she was fully discharged to our care. Her measurements at discharge were 52 cm and 3284 g (20.5 inches and 7.24 pounds).
Last night, February 11, lying on her stomach on our bed, she raised her head for the first time – her first major developmental milestone and the reason I feel so strongly compelled to pre-empt the coming photoblog with this text-only entry.
(Last night was also the first time Molli Malou ever made her very own snowman in our back yard. There’ll be pictures of that, too.)
She is 10 weeks and 2 days old right now, as I write this.
Molli Malou’s first head lift came on October 18, quite a bit later even allowing for gestational development rather than time elapsed since birth. (You can see it in her own permanent record, here: Liftoff!). You’ll be amazed how alike they look when you see the photographic evidence of Maddie’s head lift.
Lovely blog. Looking forward to the pictures. AML Pop-pop (Dad)
