We did get Molli Malou a new bike yesterday, but the training wheels stayed on and our camera recorded lots and lots of lovely pictures of her that will be posted later in the week. Molli Malou’s about as ready to ride without training wheels as I am to pilot a 747.
I’m not actually sure if she’s more excited about actually having the bicycle, or having the ability to tell Smilla that it’s Molli Malou’s bike, and she can’t ride it! (Smilla caught Molli Malou riding her, Smilla’s, bicycle recently, and went berserk and demanded her parents take the bike up to their apartment so Molli Malou couldn’t right it… and amazingly, her parents actually did.)
To Molli Malou’s credit, though, after rehearsing the line, “You can’t ride Molli Malou’s bike, Smilla, becaus it’s mine!” a few thousand times in the apartment, she softened before we took the bike downstairs into the yard and decided she would let Smilla ride it if she asked to.
That hasn’t been put to the test yet.
I won’t be able to update the blog with the images and videos for a few days, because we’re going to see Bob Dylan tonight (the perqs of this job never cease!) and tomorrow is poker night.
So you caught me. I had no idea it was April 1st. Looking forward to the pictures of Molli with training wheels. AML
