After a brutally hectic period, we finally took off from Copenhagen a little after noon on Saturday, July 2. Molli Malou had been pointing out all morning what a yucky rainy day it was, and I had repeatedly pointed out to her that that just made it all the nicer a day to leave. I didn’t know the half of it: not long after our departure, 150 millimeters dropped on Copenhagen in the course of just a few hours, and the capital saw its worst flooding in modern history.
Ironically enough, my first two vacation days would have been vacation days even had I stayed at work: Nordisk Film’s mediehuset, the building where I work, was flooded and had to be closed.
Mormor and Jørgen had volcanic eruptions from their toilet and sinks.
In America, however, the moisture has all been in humidity: once again, we have come to an America almost too hot to be outside, meaning most of our time is spent freezing in air-conditioned luxury.
Rather than waste more time describing our first few days here, though, I thought I would give a try with the copy of Pinnacle Jørgen loaned me, and it finally worked… we are video-enabled again! So I rushed a project through this morning… not as lovely or well-edited as I would have liked, but I’m still getting a feel for how to use it.
