I got the results from the written part of my Prøve i Dansk 3 exam in the mail today. Here they are:
Reading comprehension: 11
Written expression: 10
For a detailed explanation of the Danish grading system, you can check here. Basically the 10 would probably be an A- in the states, and the 11 would be a solid A. (The highest grade of all is 13 and there is no 12.)
So even if I barely muddle through the oral with a 6 or a 7, I ought to have a passing average. Then I’ll be in good shape to take the summer off, polish my pronunciation with some advanced pronunciation courses this fall, and be fully fluent before Molli gets her first sentence out of her mouth some time next year.
As long as I’m in the Molli blog, I should also mention to those outside my own immediate family that we successfully extracted Molli’s first tick last night, whole and intact. That was June 7. We’re assuming she picked it up as a Langeland souvenir on the 4th or 5th. (We noticed it on the 6th but assumed it was just another little casualty of her fingernails.) I mention these dates only in order to keep this blog viable as Molli’s permanent medical history.
Oh… and those upper two teeth are really coming in now. She sort of looks like a tiger or a wolf sometimes now. It doesn’t help that her newest linguistic accomplishment is the low growl.
And she’s been cruising like mad the past couple of days. She’s going to take her first steps before her first birthday, no question.
No pictures, just wanted to share the good news.
Congratulations to a very late bloomer. I know how difficult it is to learn a new language at advanced years. So my hat is off to you.
