We have a few more Nana in Værløse pictures in the camera! They’re from the day before and the day of her departure. (No more Nana videos, but there are four Maddie and Molli Malou videos that will definitely be edited into something within a few days.)
Nana wanted this shot of Trine and me with the spire of Nikolaikirken, where we were married, visible in the background. We just learned, while Nana was here, that although this is indeed the church where the Danish reformation was launched (the Danish version of Martin Luther preaching his cries for reform from the very steps on which we were married), the spire was not added until 1903.
Same square, different angle, me with Nana.
The last night of Nana’s visit overlapped with the first of Morfar’s.
We let both girls stay up later than we should have, but we decided to make the morning easier on ourselves by letting Molli Malou choose her next-day clothes before she went to bed.
She laid them out very fastidiously to be sure they matched… and the next morning it was her idea that we get a picture of her lying where her clothes had been the night before.
Meanwhile: Maddie.
For Nana’s whole visit we’d all talked about how nice it would be to have some shots of our family, which you all, in visiting this blog, know we have very few of. Naturally we kept putting it off (“plenty of time, why rush?”) until we were out of time. Naturally the kids were fidgety but we did what we could.
And we got Nana with both her blonde granddaughters.
Nana walked Molli Malou to børnehaven that last morning, and I include these pictures only because I figure they will mean something to Nana.
And we took a final shot of Maddie and me before it was time to ship Nana off back to the states.
*** Just 75 minutes ago, Trine interrupted this leisurely blog to tell me it was “raining in the garage.” I went out to look, and indeed it was. I went up on the roof of the garage and discovered about 2-3 inches of water covering the 150 square feet or so of garage rooftop. I have just spent the past 75 minutes bailing, bucketing, and squeegeeing the water off the roof while Trine cleared the inside of the garage. Only apparent casualty: the lift to the barnevogn. But we’ve got that toasting up in the Sauna right now and believe it may be saved. Other possible casualty: we had both just had pretty rigorous workouts and were in our workout clothes, which in my case were shorts and a running shirt with a rainjacket pulled on over it. Also Topsiders. Pneumonia, here we come. We now return to this blog, already in progress. ***
Molli Malou and Maddie…
(Yes, Molli Malou likes to tote her little sister around the house now… you’ll see more in the forthcoming video. It’s nerve-wracking, but she’s very careful and hasn’t broken any of Maddie’s bones yet.)
Besides clapping (which you’ll see in the video), Maddie’s other new trick is playing with her cups. Here you can see why she is only allowed to handle her own cups after she has drunk them dry.
That’s it. I’m going to dry off, pour myself a healthy glass of scotch, shower, and go into work much, much later than usual tomorrow. Maybe even as late as 9:00.
What a lovely blog. I"d already seen those photos since I have the CD but they were great to see in the blog!
Still, the pics aren't as good as actually being there was.
The photos of the two girls are beautiful, as are the girls.
Hope by now you're dry and pneumonia free
