Monday’s official declaration appears to have worked. The pox are fading, Flash’s foot is improving, and there have been no further bombs in Moscow. We’re all doing better and getting our sleep and tomorrow we’re going down to see Mad Ludwig’s crowning achievement — Schloss Neuschwanstein, or “Castle of the New Swan Place” — so although this blog only carries us through Tuesday afternoon, I’m writing from a Wednesday night point of view and things are good.
We begin, however, sometime Monday morning.
These are all shots from Morfar’s house in Feldafing.
We’ve approved a vacation plan of daily ice creams up at the shop in Tutzing.
(Sometimes I just take random “local color” pics…)
We bought four things in Munich on our Tuesday daytrip into town: a new 4GB card for the camera, a “bubble robot” kit for Molli Malou, and a pair of shoes for each of the girls.
The use of the new memory card resulted in some weird temporal transpositions: a nice of way of saying that chronogy goes to hell from this point forward.
Here we are back at the house, after our trip to Munich, with the bubble robot assembled and operational.
Hold on, Sherman! Set the wayback machine to earlier that afternoon!
No, wait, forward again! Show us the bubble robot!
No, go back, more from the morning!
No, back to the bubble machine!
No, the morning coziness!
Somewhere in the middle: show us the girls waiting for the S6 train to Munich!
A shot from the train while it’s parked at Sternberg station!
And the adorable people in that train!
And now, coming out of the train into Marienplatz!
And where did we dine in lovely Munich?
No, really, what did you eat?
Yes! Turds in a bowl, with a beer and a pretzel on the side! A Munich specialty so well known that, honest to God, at a candy store in Sternberg this morning we saw the dish recreated in marzipan form!
Today’s and, probably, tomorrow’s pictures will be posted as part of a blog post tomorrow or the next day. But for now… there it is.
More to come! And be sure to check the Facebook Mobile Uploads for, you know, ongoing real-time photographic narrative or whatever…
Wonderful. Turds in a bowl. Now my favorite snack.
