Molli weighs 5.1 pounds today, she’s off the Apnea detector, and her new address is Room 5. Room 5 isn’t very different from Room 3, just smaller and therefore a little less frantic. She can be withdrawn to other rooms of the ward at will, and Trine spent the whole day with her, some of it in one of the private rooms designed for family use.
This evening I met Trine just as she was wrapping up a feeding in Room 5. Vibeke and Jørgen were also there. We moved en masse to one of the private rooms. I burped Molli, then Mormor got to hold her granddaughter for the first time.
Mormor and Jørgen left shortly afterwards, and as I held Molli in my arms it seemed like she wanted to be fed again. Trine offered up the meal cart, and Molli went right to work. She ate herself full, I burped her again, then sat alone with her in the room for half an hour while Trine “pumped out” down the hall. It was the first time I’d ever spent entirely alone with my daughter. It was pure joy for both of us.
We finally put Molli to bed and she no sooner lay down then she began hiccuping, woke up entirely, and was too adorable to tear ourselves away from. It took us ten minutes to work up the courage.
Now it’s time for bed.
What great progress Molli is making and I am very envious of Vibeke to hold such a precious child.
Thank you
I know you were exhausted when we spoke so I appreciate your taking the time to blog.
Thanks again. You look wonderful with Molli! And Vibeke looks very happy with her first granddaughter.
Love,
Farmor
