Billeder

I’ve said just about all there is to say about today, and Molli is now safely back at the hospital. Now it’s picture time.

First, we just wanted to see how Molli compared to her mother and father in terms of baby appearance. Here’s a shrunken version of our comparison (the ages are all different, but it’s striking how much alike Trine and me look!).

We are family.

Next is a silly picture, a very dark one, the only point of which is to prove that our little girl has already made her first trip to the mall—at an age when most little girls are still bubbling around in their mothers’ bellies!

Mall Rat, 36w+3d.

Earlier I mentioned the “shading” solution I’d designed to prevent Molli’s “Boxette” from serving as a roasting pan. The problem with “Boxettes” (premie carseats) is that their flat-out design leaves the child completely exposed to every bit of sunlight that beams into the car. This morning Molli was just broiling away. Fortunately our car is a piece of crap and I was able to use the panel of the driver’s seat as a kind of shade, but Trine and I wondered what would happen if one of us had to drive alone with Molli on a sunny day. The reason we went to the mall was to find some kind of window-screening or -tinting solution. There weren’t many to choose from, and they all cost a bundle—and each of them had their own disadantages. We got home and gave it a little more thought. Suddenly I struck on the idea of using some big old poster board we had lying around to build a kind of “tent” for the Boxette. We knew it would work brilliantly the moment I tried it out on the Boxette. I even cut a little hole in the top of the tent so that the driver would be able to peer in on the little passenger at will.

The shape of the Nagan Boxette Tent ™ suggested some aesthetic possiblities, which I pursued immediately. Here’s the result:

At least one of us has a sommerhus!

Lastly, just a lovely shot of Molli sleeping off a meal in Trine’s arms this afternoon. It’s lovely because it’s home.

That’s all. More of the same tomorrow…

  1. Greg,
Everything seems to be going beautifully now. Trust me, you’ll get used to Molli being around the house – but oh how wonderful it must be right now when you’ve waited so long for it.

She is growing at a fantastic rate, which just goes to show how healthy she is.

I loved the pictures and it’s true – you all look alike. But I don’t even remember the one of you. Guess I’m getting old!

Had a busy day today with included a golf match, which I won. Now i play in the finals. I’m exhausted and heading for bed.
thanks for the writing, the pictures, everything.

    I love you all.
    Mom
