Mollifying Molli

We had Molli home all day today. Trine went to pick her up in the morning, but we forget to put the Nagan Boxette Tent ™ in the car. Naturally the sun was out, and glaring, so Trine improvised with a bit of cloth.

Which was just as well, she told me when she got home, because the Nagan Boxette Tent ™ forgot to take into account the shoulder strap of the front-seat belt, which, in the current design, would slice rather crushingly across the Tent on a diagonal.

Which was also just as well, I replied, since Molli’s Hus had been occupied by a squatter.

Squatter.

I guess that’s why architects need five years of college.

Vibeke was with us for a large portion of the day, and kept Trine and Molli company (and did an enormous amount of cleaning) while I raced into town for a meeting with my Danish teacher, at which I learned that I had demonstrated sufficient competence on Friday’s exam to proceed to the next level, Danish 7-8B, on August 9. We still have another week and a half at the current level, but at least I know it’s in the bag.

But I was saying how Vibeke had been here today:

Vibeke, Mollified.

When Trine got to the hospital this morning, she couldn’t find Molli. Not in Room 3, not in Room 5, nowhere to be find. On a hunch she popped her head into the nurse’s conference room, and there she was, being looked after by the nurses during their morning meeting.

They said she’d been crying all night, “announcing herself” for her mother. So they’re speeding things up a little: they want Trine to spend the night there tonight, and I’m still scheduled to join them tomorrow night. We’re thinking our vociferous little girl (who isn’t especially vociferous with us) is shouting her way out of the hospital, and we say: bully for her!

Funny to think that Molli’s so mollified by Trine… you’d think it would be the other way around!

So here’s some Mollification for you:
