Sorry for the lack of stuff. We’re weaning Molli and finally training her to sleep through the night, so it’s been a little tough. And Trine’s back at work, so I’m responsible for Molli for most of the day, and the few free hours I’ve had so far this week—which hours I’ve only had thanks to Mormor coming over and spending a few hours with the bean—have been necessarily dedicated to higher priority things. But this is still a priority. Just not a higher priority than, say, doing my Io work and doing my writing.
And tonight I decided to crank the Almanac back to life (and it’s almost all about Molli), though I’ve decided to trash the MoronAbroad thing and lighten up the message board just to give myself some more time this year—I’ll obviously need it.
Anyway, sorry for the lapse but you can expect some stuff tomorrow—hopefully I can get some pics of Molli’s adventures with real food—and her inability to discern it from facial scrub.
I should note, though, that despite last night (because of last night?) Molli was as happy, cheerful, and full of mirth today as I’ve ever seen her. She was just all smiles, all day. That’s partly why it took me and Mormor about 75 minutes to get her to eat a lousy 100ml of formula and half a portion of mashed potatoes: she kept laughing. She wouldn’t eat the formula from a bottle, the sippee cup only worked for a few sips, and in the end I had to give her the formula from a glass. (Actually a ceramic hard-boiled egg stand.) She drank glass after glass from the cup and loved it. She’d throw her head back and open her mouth wide open whenever I brought the cup near her face. Sometimes I think she was actually trying to eat the damn cup, so deliriously addicted to its milky contents had she become.
As for the potatoes… she didn’t seem to mind the taste, but they were far more interesting to her as makeup than food.
Anyway, words are nothing. Photos are everything. There will be pictures soon!
