Friday was opening day at Tivoli, so Molli and I hurried over there after a long meeting at Io (Molli keeps bringing me along to her damn meetings) to meet John and Liam for our beer stroll.
It was a nicer day than Opening Day had been last year, so it was a little more crowded, but eventually we found an area where John and I could sit and enjoy the Belgian beer he’d brought without fear of being kicked out by the Carlsberg cops. Molli and Liam continued to flirt shamelessly.
Not very evident in that photo are the many, many bruises all over Molli’s poor little head. Her skull is like a topographical map. (Yes, yes, I exaggerate, but only in degree. She really is all banged up on her head—but as a result she’s also getting much better at breaking her falls with things other than her head.) Anyway, sitting in the park drinking beer with an infant daughter covered with bruises got me worried about being picked up by Family Services or soemthing, so I called Trine in for backup. John called his wife, Sandie, and the four of us had a nice Friday drink at an actual cafe before heading to our respective homes with our respective exhausted children.
Before putting Molli down for the night we gave her a strawberry, her very first. She enjoyed it immensely.
(Yes, all that mess is from one strawberry.)
Molli’s reached the point where it’s harder to satisfy her by jiggling a toy in front of her and then handing it over. She prefers to dig through the “toy chest” herself and choose her own.
(That’s a network cable she’s got in her hands. She likes wires and cables so much we thought we’d give her one of her very own to play with it, and it’s actually among her favorite toys.)
Lastly… well, nothing. She was in a fabulous mood this morning and I thought this smile was cute.
There’ll probably be more pictures tonight, because Trine’s got Molli up in the forest with Ditte as I write this, and there ought to be some nice pictures of Molli out in the wilds.
Very very busy weekend for me, though, and I need to get back to work…
Can’t wait to see what she looks like with her first ice cream cone.
