First, a couple of recent movies, just because they require no editing (maybe I’ll get the holiday videos posted in time for summer?). The first was taken at some point over the weekend: “Dancing Her Pants Off” (AVI, 2.8MB). The second was actually shot by John at the Fastelavn celebration at vuggestue (not Molli Malou’s actual classroom, but just across the courtyard: “I’m Whacking As Hard As I Can” (MOV, 6.5MB).
We’re supposed to get a foot of snow starting tonight and ending sometime Wednesday evening. I’m skeptical. It’ll just be our second real snow of the season. Molli Malou got to try sledding on real snow for the first time just a few weeks ago, and it was a fairly tame affair.
“Where’s the hill?” you ask. Damned if I know. There may be hills in Sweden, but I still haven’t been there. (The highest elevation in Denmark is the top of a little bump reverently referred to as “Sky Mountain,” and is about 550 yards above sea-level.)
Molli Malou didn’t care. Snow is snow, and it was all new to her.
She even tried to lock us in the basketball court when we told her it was time to go inside.
For what it’s worth…
Here’s an action shot with no particular significance: it’s just a good reflection of Molli Malou being her usual self. (Her usual good self. We don’t take the camera out for her dark side.)
Your Fastelavn video is probably still downloading, so here are some stills from Sunday’s holiday. Molli Malou was able to whack the barrel on her own this year, as you can see, although she seems to be missing the killer instinct. (It’s tempting to blame the outfit, but I think we all know that pretty dresses and fancy footwear are no impediment to a killer instinct.)
The first shot’s my favorite:
The rest aren’t so great, but they’re still fun for Friends Of Molli Malou who don’t get to see as much of her as they want:
Unfortunately the little colds Molli Malou and her mother had been fighting off with some success were exacerbated by the bacteria soup in that petri-dish of an environment known as a children’s party. They both crashed hard yesterday, and are still down for the count.
When I came home last night they were comforting one another on the couch watching Barney. Molli Malou had had another Fastelavn celebration at vuggestue on Monday, so she was still in her princess dress (a lovely hand-me-down from her cousin Sophie). And Trine had just made her some tea. And she’s become obsessed with lip balm. Behold our little Camille:
I’m feeling a little under the weather myself and actually came home early from work to try and get some rest. Trine’s asleep in the living room as I write this, where she’s been resting since Mormor took the ailing Molli Malou off her hands earlier today.
This may have been the most understated Molliblog ever. For the time being we’ll leave it at that: I won’t say any more about it.
What lovely photos but I did not get the videos. Not to worry though the pictures and dialog were worth it themselves.
