It’s 1:53 in the morning right now.
Maddie Marie Kammer Nagan has been with us for almost six hours.
She was born December 2, 2008, at 8:03 pm CET.
As her sister was before her, she is tiny but magnificent. (A little tinier, actually, but no less magnificent!)
Download the WMV video now. It’s only 23MB, and it’s right here.
I can’t say enough about her. She opened her eyes right from the start, was curious and reactive to everything, was breathing without an assist and just… just awesome.
I can tell the stories later. For now, while the video is downloading, enjoy the pictures.
WAIT!
First, as a reminder of what a 7-week premie looks like:
(Of course, that’s about 4½ years after the fact, but keep that in mind. Maddie came out of the womb a week earlier than her big sister, so she’ll look a week less magnificent than Molli Malou when she’s packing snowballs in the backyard 4½ years from today…)
Here you go!
We’re not totally settled on Maddie Marie… it just threw itself out at us tonight and rolls nicely enough off the tongue that we may go with it. But we may not. So don’t get too attached to it. (Or do.)
Oh… it’s in the video, but just to have it in text: 1307 grams, 42 cm, head 28.5 cm, and she passed all those newborn tests with the highest possible scores. And has been breathing without an assist since birth. And is not even in an incubator!
Welcome Maddie!
Could not be happier for you.Trine, and Molli. AML Dad (pop-pop)
