Maddie is a week old!
One big movie covering everything from Saturday through today. Download it here… it’s a big one, so it may take a while!
I am going to be very quick. Saturday Molli Malou and I had a quick visit right before they discovered Maddie had a low positive count for jaundice, so we got to watch as they blindfolded her, wrapped her in bubble wrap, and rolled in some big ultraviolet lights to shine down on her. Monday I went in to meet Trine for lunch and have some afternoon time with Maddie, but walked in on a Falck squad getting ready to taxi her to Glostrup hospital: the jaundice was gone, so it was time for her to move on out!
Her weight has gone up and gone down and now back up, a direction it seems to be stabilizing in. (She was up to 1320 Sunday, down to 1280 Monday, and back up around 1330 or something today, Tuesday.)
Trine was discharged from the hospital Monday, but was able to spend the night with Maddie last night in Glostrup. She’ll be sleeping at home tonight after an evening visit right now.
As promised, one thing we did Saturday was lay Molli Malou’s favorite doll, Dolly, in the crib with Maddie to give everyone a better sense of proportion than that from my big old hand. So I’m including some shots of Dolly beside a 2-liter bottle of soda and a roll of paper towels for further comparison.
Overall Maddie is doing very well and Molli Malou is thrilled to be a big sister and sad that Maddie probably won’t be home for Christmas. Trine is doing better every day. And on top of all that, I managed to finally get the last of the boxes unpacked and so Trine was able to come home to a clean, well-ordered home. Though I’m sure we’ll have it even cleaner and more ordered by the time Maddie moves in!
Oh! And on Sunday Mormor took Molli Malou to the Nutcracker, which she dressed up for. And on Monday we got a shipment of clothes from Nana — a starter wardrobe for Maddie, and some beautiful pajamas for Molli Malou. Hence those pictures.
And of course we continue to press on with our Christmas calendars!
Now watch the movie! Sorry for the mix of English and Danish, but I don’t have the energy for subtitles in either direction.
I realize it takes a lot out of you but be assured they are apreciated and thoroughly enjoyed. I enjoy all the pictures of Maddie and Molli especially with the perspective of Dolls, Coke Bottles and paper towels.
